The modern house was designed by Herriot + Melhuish Architecture is setting a very large beach to live outside the area. Built as a family house on the beach, with four bedrooms with study and studio space. Combining rational geometric with a romantic attachment to the land and the traditions of the beach. The house consists of two interlocking volumes, white wing bedroom, living room that came loose from housing plan. Intended to double height wooden crate which means more than just a beach house, but all lived throughout the year.
Concrete construction required to relocate this building if necessary. Heat pump technology, rather than high levels of insulation and solar panels on the roof, adding a double-layered large openings that capture the sun’s heat in winter. But the cold by the sea breeze in the summer, so should have room temperature control and very good.
The composition of natural cedar weatherboards, painted plywood and corrugated iron sheets to connect the home landscape and several local traditions of the older. But also clearly distinguishes it from many in the context of the local built. The house is connected to the ground and be prepared if the sand against the tide shift, to move.
